One thing the show emphasizes is that tv law enforcement really needs to be better. I think the Pawnee policeman spoke for most tv law enforcement when he praised Andy Dwyer's intelligence.
Back to Natalie Zea. They don't have a female agent that can accompany her if/when she wants to leave the house? The male FBI guy just looks out the door, but not between the cars? A simple pass through to re-enter through the front door would have been easy.
Lawyer woman was (probably)lying. Or was lied to. Joe's ex was dumb to believe her, but fear for your kids makes people dumber than normal.
Someone should live tweet all the stupid things characters do on a show. The Following could be a good choice, but Revolution is better. Plus Revolution could be done from the POV that the kidnapped brother is the real antagonist. Or at least responsible for all the bad things that have happened since the pilot.
