I like him ok, in general; but I can't watch his cooking show much because the affectation-overload usually starts to grate quite fast.

I liked him on DDD a lot more when he was actually enthusiastic about places and food instead of faux-enthusiastic - in recent seasons, he's seemed to be calling it in, and the schticks don't sit well.
