oddly, my uncle was a professional firefighter (did we know this? uncle tony) and he says that the most vicious dogs he's encountered

have been dobermans.
he says that many pits are a little bad. but that the dobermans that he's encountered that are mean are vicious.

totally anecdotal, but the few dobermans i've known have been, like, sucky lap dogs. -- nm
