It very well might be the former, but even if it is there should be more than enough leeway to drive normally until Monday.

I'd suspect the meaning is really closer to "the oil really should be changed within a month or so" than "STOP DRIVING ME TODAY!!!"

(This is assuming of course that the oil level isn't actually really low, that could be real trouble.)
