Rousey's special becuase she is marketable and wants to fight. She got a title fight for the same reason Brock Lesnar got one

they were both marketable. And if neither were worthy, they wouldn't have won the belts in that 'undeserved' title fight.
Dana White is pretty straight forward. She's in this spot becuase she can make them money. If she couldn't, she wouldn't be; and most likely, women wouldn't be in the UFC.
The reason the Strikeforce men didn't walk into automatic title shots is simple...there's more depth in the men's game and there's an already existing champion. The UFC's not going to lessen their own champions by assuming that Strikeforce's champions are equally deserving of a title shot the moment they come through the door.
They earn it and for the most part will be short-ordered right to the title chase. IF they don't earn it, they join the ranks of Jake Shields, Nate Diaz, and Mirko Cro Cop as big name imports who weren't good enough at the time to be champs.
