it wouldn't be for me, but I can see some of the allure, even for those that just do the crossing (a lot also add other stops) - it's like staying at

a really luxe hotel or resort, only less expensive, often fewer people, you can sometimes see cool things from the ship, you can check-out of constant contact via computers and phones (although that's changed some); and, if you don't like to fly, that's a lure, too.

there's also a cool, way retro aspect.
