my plugged-in-ness is intermittent; but I've been paying attention a bit more recently, thus the items I mentioned today.

there's been a lot of talk about that new hourglass powder; but it's $45 (and they encourage pairing with a $35 brush! which, I hear, isn't really necessary - just use a fluffy brush and it's fine). it would last a long time, but I did some research and now want to swatch it vs. some less spendy items that have similar ingredients, if not quite the same color array (nars has a compact and loose powder that look promising).
I'm pretty happy with the guerlain meterorite balls I've used for years - nice and subtle illumination, and they last *forever and, also, ever*. also, I can be patient and wait for good quality drugstore knockoffs - things are so much better there than they used to be.
anti-rec.: some of the ladies/girls have been raving; but, for me, the new maybelline rocket mascara has been awful.
still really liking the revlon balm stains; and, newer, the l'oreal version of YSL's glossy stains -- not exactly the same, but so less spendy. they're called coulour riche caresse wet shine stains - I have two, and "endless red" is my fave. not too red, lasts nicely when you apply one coat, let sit a bit, then apply another; and it doesn't dry my lips out.
I'll stop for now - before ML is even sorrier he brought up girly things. hehheh.
