I even considered it last night while playing Regicide going for my melee kills that I wasn't quite closing the distance to people

and I've noticed the same issue with my short combat when using sword, shotgun, etc. just out of range. thruster might help a bit there to position better quickly, avoid grenades, and then also work as a defensive measure as you said
