Otherwise, you would have more calls to Beckett, maybe even her coming over. This season they have had hints of Castle being more of a... well... more of a man than a writer. This went a long way towards that, as well.Even though he f-ed a lot of it up, he found his daughter, without Beckett holding his hand and managed to bring her home. That goes a long way.

Plus, Beckett got to experience him being dark, which is interesting as well.
