So, when facebook started, UMD was one of the first schools on it. basically this means, anyone I had a class with/met/was in my dorms friended each other. In addition, everyone from HS friended each other.
I told myself that I have 1,000 friends on here, and definitely do not keep in touch with many, nor care to for many. I went through my list one day this weekend and removed all of the people whom I had no idea who they were (mainly people in 1 class of mine, or those I met at parties). Since then, I've been removing people that pop up in my newsfeed that are HS people I don't need contact with or other college etc. people whom I don't know, etc. I went from 1,000 to 866 i just a few days.
Not that I have anything important or private on facebook, but it's nice to see that number shrinking towards the people I want to keep in touch with or those that are closer.
