I think their decision rests on the upcoming Evil Dead movie.

If it does well, but fans complain about the quality, he'll make his movie. If it doesn't do well, the money might not be there to do it. If fans like it, that would make it harder for him to make one. Because expectations would be too high, no matter how good it was some people would expect more. And there's always a chance he throws under the one coming out in April.
