I only caught a glimpse of Golden Boy on CBS this weekend, but the reveal at the end was a stunner. (spoiler)

It flash forwards to the future where our protagonist discusses a violent incident at the police station involving his partner. It appears to have some kind of underlying mythology rather than just being a run-of-the-mill procedural.
