Was there ever a reason given for CBS jettisoning him? For someone who had been around for so long, there had to be something major - but on top of that, I don't think he's been doing something for any other network, right?
How weird is it that someone's career would just vaporize like that - going from being a fixture calling the national championship game to......nothing.
I don't miss him much at all. But it's weird
