he knew he'd probably lose the mob boss's daughter in the deal, but I think that it would have been a given either way.
tell everyone what happened -- lose the cute gf
keep it a secret -- eventually it gets out anyway and you double whammy yourself...one for having killed her dad, 2 for proving you can't be trusted because you keep secrets from her.
