In the second House of Cards series To Play the King, the Francis character, who is edging Britain towards a police state while ignoring poverty and the underclass, contends with the King - a thinly disguised version of Prince Charles, who has a different vision for Britain. It ends with the King resigning.
Not sure if there is scope for a similar outcome - Francis becoming President.
The third series was the worst of the three, and was about Francis' downfall
