I can understand why you're upset and that it presents a hardship from what you're used to, but understanding why the decision is made may make it go

down easier. Rejection of signage and commercialization in residential areas has a long history. People just don't want to see it where they live. They're not going to want to make an exception for a new resident who wants to change aspects of the environment that was part of the reason they purchased their condo in the first place.
