Flagship Romance! It was at Molly Malone's. We had a really nice time! Just a girl, a guy, a guitar and the occasional boot heel on the stage for rhythm. But, they are dripping with charisma, so this was more than enough music to fill the room.
They played a twisted cover of A Whole New World, or whatever that song from Alladdin is. It was dark, like a dirge, it was really well done.
This guy can sing. There was a fantastic moment where he hit and held The Note, the audience cheered, and then he went back for more and hit something higher and louder.
The audience was with them throughout the set. He looked genuinely relieved as he said how well he thought their first LA night was going.
I got to meet them, but that's only because the female singer couldn't find the card swiper. I bummed cash off of Germany bro, and they were so apologetic, they both introduced themselves to me and asked me my name, etc. She gave me a discount on the CD, too! They were busy people after their set, they pretty much got mobbed with people trying to take pictures with them. So it was nice of them to stop and give me the attention. Heh.
We had to take off, so we couldn't see the rest of the bands at the concert. But, at least we drank plenty.
