if they'd said the girl was bullied, I wouldn't have said anything - they just said she was teased some. I googled for recaps, just to make sure; and it's clear, just from the little clips at the hits, that I wasn't alone in my thoughts about it. (self-esteem, or lack of it, can be a thing, sure; but it was just so stretchy for that context.)

I didn't think the "I'm sexy and I know it" guy was dumb for picking Blake - he's had success with non-country, and those folks stand out more on his team. (I did wish, though, as I do for all the singing shows, that credit would always be given for using someone else's unique cover for inspiration or more - dude didn't come up with that all on his own.)

re: shakira, I saw her sing live on tv somewhere or another in recent years, and she could did really well - not sure what was up last night, but she definitely can do better.

I liked the new judges a lot - definitely more relaxed and... even, sort of, than with christina and cee lo in the mix.
