Bioshock:Infinite question

did anyone pick up the key from the altar in the Raven church? I was picking up coins, and apparently there was a key sitting next to it. It said the key opened something I had already passed, so I'd have to go back and look for it, essentially.

Anyone else get this? Anyone go back?
