Now, 6ft is a lot so this particular case is not a good example, but...
if you can drop as close as possible, you're dropping over top of the divot and hoping it bounces out. That's dumb as well.

I agree with your IM line...i think they need to put a number on the "Close as possible" becuase if you're choosing to drop there
