I think "deserve" shouldn't have much to do with who wins Survivor. It's about making sure you get in position to win it, and then going on to win it. If we get into "worthy", probably half of the winners to date weren't worthy.
But if Cochran were to win, I certainly wouldn't put him up there with the truly great players, like Boston Rob (Season 22, Redemption Island) or Parvati or Sandra or Yul Kwon or Kim Spradlin. I wouldn't even put him ahead of some players who haven't won - like, say, Malcolm.
But I'd probably put him ahead of players like ELR and Coach, for at least understanding how the end-game works.
