I prefer to use the Amex and I had some big expenses last month. I'd have happily transferred some of the limit from the Mastercard. They're both

through Citi and that's what they did when they first offered me the Amex...but they wouldn't go for it this time.
When they ask for your annual income and you're drawing against investments it's hard to quantify an amount.
