me either. when you are dating someone and sharing stories of the past, his only real option is to include stories that involve his ex.

he could probably not mention her a bit more, but i don't sense it's a 'can't stop thinking about her thing.'
i expect the references will fade away as the new couple make their own memories and have more common history to discuss.
