STIS: What's a reasonable price, to pay a wedding photographer?

I have a guy quoting me $2800, and to me, that sounds crazy.
I was thinking between $800-$1200

IF you want someone good, worth the effort, then the $3k would be what an experienced quality photog would get, for the 30 some hours involved, plus

how much are you spending on the wedding? don't spend $50k on the ceremony and then get cheap when it comes to remembering it. -- nm

$2800 is crazy. Eff him. (apologies to anyone who may have paid that much and is super happy with the product.)

it depends on a million things. most of the work isn't on the day, it's in the image selection and touch ups after.
