The address is about 1 mile from where the original shootout occurred. How long a day must he have had?

I would imagine he hid in that boat fairly quickly. Laying there, likely wounded. No food. Virtually nobody moving anywhere around. Maybe he was passed out for most of it.

Probably. The home owner "saw blood and a body" was something I read.
