After remarrying, my father adopted 2 girls from Russia. They are now 14 and 18.
The older one is a very well adapted girl who is looking at colleges and hoping to be a doctor.
The younger has a ton of issues, both mental and physical (none of which manifested pre-adoption) that require constant care and most likely will result in her never living on her own.
Having said that, I know my father would not have changed a thing and loves those 2 girls to death :).
