David - here are my thoughts on Family Meal (the Voltaggio restaurant we tried on Saturday) -

In general, I liked it. Not a very fancy place, very plain decor. The open kitchen is in the middle of the restaurant, and is surrounded by a lunch counter. The tables and booths were *packed* in there, it was a tight squeeze, hard to move around in there without bumping into someone's chair.

The food was really tasty. We tried the chicken pot pie fritters - they were faaaantastic. I wish there were more than 6 to an order, though! I ordered the mahi tacos; Will ordered the pulled pork sandwich. As it is an ala carte menu, we ordered a side of macaroni and cheese and a side of roasted potatoes.

The fish tacos were delicious, but I felt it was more about presentation than anything else. I don't know that I'd ever pay $11 for what was on my plate. Food was great, but I don't know that it was worth the $11. Will's pork sandwich was huge. He said it was great as well.

It was strange, because as small as my lunch portion was for the cost, the sides were a good deal, a nice size for the cost. The macaroni and cheese was okay - truthfully I like my homemade stuff better - the baby ate it happily so it worked for us. The roasted potatoes were *phenomenal* - dipping sauces were great too - although a note to Mr. Voltaggio - it's okay to call them "French fries". We were surprised to see a bucket of French fries being delivered to our table when we pictured them in a different form (to me 'roasted potatoes' isn't the same as French fries, but no matter). I don't know what seasoning was on those fries, but it made them super addicting. Sooo good.

In the future, I think we decided we'd rather just order a bunch of sides and share, seemed to be a better deal.

The restaurant is supposed to be a place for the entire family - there was a kid's menu with 3 or 4 options so I can see that working for really little kids. If I was a child of, say, 9 or 10, I don't know that I'd be happy with much of what was there. Kid's menu might be too small for me, food on the adult menu might not appeal to me. It definitely had a Voltaggio touch.

We liked it enough to go back, but it won't be often. I would like to go back one morning and try their breakfast - the breakfast menu sounded a lot more appealing to me than the lunch and dinner menus (but I also looove a good breakfast). I also want to try one of their "adult milkshakes".
