I disagree that they don't draft for need.

Every time drafts for need in some fashion. It's just a question of degree. More to the point, teams stay away from positions they don't need.

The Ravens didn't draft true middle linebackers, left tackles, or free safeties in the first few rounds while Ed Reed, Ray Lewis and Ogden were around. I'm sure at some point, the BPA available was one of those positions, but they weren't gonna take them because they were set there.

The first two picks were definiteily need picks for the Ravens. They can still be good picks, but they pretty much had to go Safety, MLB, LT or WR, and they did.
