I do think that Tyrion will have something to do with the dragons.

First there is the story that Arya told to Tywin about the three Targaryens who each rode a dragon. There is only one Targaryen left so two dragons will need some one else to ride them.

And there is a scene in the first book that didn't make it into the series, where Tyrion is wondering through the tunnels in the dungeons of the keep where he comes across a room with skulls (and bones?) of dragons and they have some pull for him. I'm hoping this foreshadowing.
