In response to "(similar to my reading, I am so sick of books with a man/woman being chased by unknown forces who meets a man/woman who needs/provides assistance)" by Beaker

several+ years ago, I had to stop reading "woman/girl has a horrid life but overcomes" books.

so pretty much all Oprah Book Club offerings.

I appreciate the real-life versions; but, my goodness, there's only so many fictional accounts I could take.

I'm also off for repetitive chick-lit - how many times can the shopaholic mess-up and save herself before the lessons actually stick? that kind of thing.

there are others, too; but, in general, it's just laziness of writers and editors that gets me.
