i was with my sister when i signed-up, and i think they totally knew we didn't live together. if you went with someone when they renewed or the like, i don't think it'd be questioned - they like people who'll spend!
on the other side: i bought another pair the same week from an independent optician. it turned out they cost almost the same, so shopping around can be a saver by itself.
and, rambling on - i bought a pair from pearle several years ago. tore a contact in las vegas and only had notsonice glasses with me (the horror). dashed to pearle and they weren't that expensive and were helpful and fast; so their service must be inconsistent. :/
