A good friend of mine is a State Trooper in KY (plus I grew up there). He says the only part of the state that's dangerous is in the eastern part-

in coal mining country. And he's talking far east, like around Whitesburg, etc--way past Moorhead and Richmond. I grew up in the Ft. Knox, Radcliff, Elizabethtown area then went to school at WKU in Bowling Green and there wasn't ever a gun problem in either place. Of course, it could have changed a lot, but my best friend and my sister, who still live there haven't mentioned it.
