And more to the point: My time and my daughter's time is too valuable to be spent walking the 5 mile round trip

when I can drive her there in 5 minutes or she can ride the bus and socialize or do homework (she does do this).
Walking would take her over 2 hours round trip and the majority of the trip would be along a 45 mph road with no sidewalks.
