I *have* to have a numeric keypad. When I had a laptop without one, I tried to hook up an external one it took over the jkl/etc. keys and I would have

to toggle the numlock all the time. so dumb.
last time I bought, I got a 17" to make sure that it had a numkeypad and that it was usable.
