If wings don't count then I think the last time I had classic fried chicken was 2002 when I made some for some cast members at a show I was doing

in Vermont one summer.
The theme was a Classic African-American (Southern) Summer Supper. I made the chicken, creamy fried corn as well as corn on the cob, a monstrous green salad, sliced tomato/cucumber salad, sweetened iced tea and banana pudding for dessert.
The best thing about it was we were so far into the boonies that the only thing to do around there was jog, hike and go to farmers' fruit and veggie stands. The fresh produce was pretty much amazeballs.
