That depends upon the domestic to foreign box office split as well as the negative costs of both.

Some of the Man of Steel advertising numbers being tossed around double the budget. And they already gave away future revenue by ceding the earnings of movie tickets in the Wal-Mart deal. The matter isn't cut and dried so while I understand your point that there is a gap between perception and reality, WWZ averted disaster. It is being celebrated for that. MOS looks to be following the same pattern as Superman Returns, which is *exactly* the fate WB tried to buy their way out of repeating.
