grits are made with milk, chicken stock, hot sauce, cheese. shrimp are cooked up in a roux and dumped over. it's incredible food.

there's a million recipes out there, all a little different.

i make my roux by cooking up bacon, taking it out, frying up some onions and garlic with the fat, tossing in the shrimp floured so they help make the roux (not exactly, but it works), then putting the bacon back in. diced tomato to finish before you toss it on top of the grits.
