high school and college - worked to stay eligible and a college coach because "the dad he needed" as a role model from his own dad dying when Aaron was 16. Supposedly he had put the drugs and stuff behind him ... and then last August he got a contract and BOOM - he doesn't have to worry anymore because he got PAID and the bad behavoir surfaces again.
ok so - I get the need for athletes to have a contract to protect themselves ... I mean - injuries on the field happen through no fault of their own and having that contract in place protects them. I guess I wonder though - can't the contracts have clauses where things that are done VOLUNTARILY by the athlete that violate whatever code of conduct is set by the teams or league VOID the contract to try to keep these guys in line? (just wondering - maybe this DOES exist and I'm just not schooled on the ins and outs of these highly paid players). 18 million is what I read he signed last August. man
