I am in total agreeance on a safe distance from the homes, should be done in a park but then they should collect everything the night of or the next morning. There should be water around and they should be shot from inside a bucket with sand inside the bucket.

The fire department here is big about proper use of fireworks and can give tickets and fines to idiots that are not using them properly.
