Speaking of houses on the market - my parents' (mom's) home is up for sale. She had priced it to sell (according to her friend/the realtor) - it's a

good price for the area.

After every showing, her friend lets her know what he has heard from the prospective buyers. Holy shit, people are picky.

People have been complaining the house is "dated". I don't think it is at all. The kitchen is by far the most dated room in the house, but it's the only one I'd really say that about. Also, they don't like that the upstairs carpets are "dated". They are 20 yrs old (and we all got to pick the colors we wanted for our rooms, so there are a lot of different colors up there), but I mean, is that a reason to not want a house? Seems like negotiating a lower price on the house would mean you could replace the rugs.

I'm just very surprised.
