He wasn't the problem. Actually he was the best part of the movie. The script was just awful, overly complicated, illogical and full of anachronisms

I read a bunch of places that this was Armie Hammer's shot at making the big leagues and becoming an A lister. Unfortunately, the only thing he proved was Billy Zane is not quite as bad as we always thought he was. Yes, that's right, Armie Hammer throws under Billy Zane, The suppporting cast was great, but they had to use that horrible horrible script. I think the worst thing was the sound. We went to an early matinee, there were maybe 35 people in an auditorium that seats 301 (this info is posted at the doors now, I like it) and the sound was cranked up to MAX. It was so loud it made my brain hurt as well as my ears.
*note If I ever hear a John Phillip Sousa march in connection to the Lone Ranger I'm going to slap a bitch. I swear to God.
