Michigan just repealed the helmut law last year ( had been in effect for ages ) - it's really strange seeing guys ride without them.

and our no-fault mandatory medical on the auto insurance is now almost 200$ every 6 months and a big part of the medical being paid is going to cyclists with closed head injuries involved in auto accidents
there was a lot of hypothesizing on whether the helmut law INCREASED or DECREASED the number of injured ... because of them surviving with a helmut when without they would have died ...
either way - I wouldn't go on a bike either
