it took Dave over 4 hours to drive home what normally takes 20-25 minutes because the highways/roads were all flooded out and they had to keep shutting them down.

i was only about a mile and half from home when the subway basically just gave up and i bought a kid's umbrella (only option - it has elves dancing on it) at a dollar store and walked in the rain. people were all in that 'hey, we are all in this together!" and smiling mood....

it was pretty insane though.
