I would simply say to look at last Wednesday's dropoff for Monsters U.

But even after that it didn't recover. It saw a big, immediate dropoff that it has yet to bounce back from.

It went from a 44.7% drop in it's second weekend to 56.7% in the third. Big films usually recover some, and do better as the weeks go on. This was the opposite.
