What it does from here on out is almost immaterial to what happened from last Wednesday to Sunday.

I'm not sure how you explain a 28.6% drop on Wednesday (Most holdover drop between 2% to 15%) then a 3.2% drop on Thursday (Most holdovers were up from Wednesday) other than competition. That might because Despicable Me 2 took a lot of Monsters U's larger screens, but that's still a version of "competition".
