Let's go back to last summer. Remember when the Colorado shooting tragedy hit, and we both knew it had negatively affected the box office of The Amazing Spider-Man because it failed to increase from Thursday to Friday?
We didn't need the next week's data to tell us that Friday had been crushed by the shooting. Just like we don't need this week's data to show whether or not Monsters U got hit on Despicable Me 2's opening day.
I love more data when it's relevant to what we're studying. In this case, what Monsters U does from here on in really has no relevance to what happened last week.
