call his agent - ask the rate for adding her as an occasional driver - can it be to an older car or does it have to be on the newest one & ask the

cost for adding her with an older car that she can be rated as the principal driver on her own - OR if the car could be IN her name - on her own policy - but she can still get multi-car & multi-policy & group discounts for still living at home ...

hopefully the agent can give you scenarios for the best options rate wise ... but you need to do this BEFORE you go car shopping :)

(generally 4 door sedan type cars are less expensive too - better passenger safety and crash results)
