well this sucks. I went to use part of a macy's gift card at their site (10% back ebates), only to have it show a zero balance.

it should have had $200, so I called - they confirmed it's zero, and said the card was last used in February of last year; but they couldn't tell me where or for what.

I bought it from my Mom, who was given it as a gift - she never used it, and, of course, I didn't. confirmation is that I scratched-off the cover on the special code on the back today, and that is needed for online or in-store purchases; so it looks like whoever used it found the number randomly or something.

there's nothing Macy's can do for me. :( -

btw, unlike a lot of other stores now, Macy's doesn't let you register cards, in case they're lost or stolen. boo!
