i was allowed my own (teeny tiny) bit if wine from a pretty early age on the occasions we drank it with dinner (not that often)

and i remember getting a giant bottle of pink champagne to drink with my friends for my 17th or 18th birthday, so, i guess yes.
oh, my mom used to drizzle creme de menthe on ice cream occasionally.
it wasn't a big taboo thing in my house, and yet, i don't ever remember my parents being noticeably intoxicated. ever.
