My disbelief has been duly re-suspended. I now poke holes in the plot of Pacific Rim (spoilers)

- Assuming the rift is in the middle of the Pacific, and these Kaiju can't teleport, I'm pretty sure we can see them coming *DAYS* in advance.
- Sharp penetrating weapons seemed the most effective weapon against the Kaiju from the first battle. So why do they keep it a surprise until all hope appears lost for Gypsy Danger?
- Why super cool, I'm pretty sure that if your goal is to pummel the Kaiju into submission, a few large cannons will do the job just as well, and are probably cheaper, easy to build, and don't need crazy brain synching shit. Also, if your strategy is to pound on a Kaiju, a nuke will do it much more effectively, although I see how that could be a problem in a populated area (not that saving civilian populations and limiting collateral damage appears to be paramount to the Jaeger project).
- The world is being overrun by giant monsters. Our military force appears ineffective. So let's just wall off the enemies and make believe they're not there. Maybe they'll go away. Let's not - say - deploy multiple Jaegers simultaneously or, you know, give them swords (see above).
- Sending giant monsters through an interstellar rift to stomp on a civilian population seems like just about the most ineffective way of conquering a planet. It could take decades for the Kaiju to do their job. Why not, say, release a biotoxin or drop bombs? Take a page from the aliens in ID4.
- If the Kaiju are being cloned, why is one of them pregnant (well, maybe they're fooling around in the clone pen).
- What would a Kaiju fetus know about passing through the rift?
